it honestly sucks when the blurb for a book is very intriguing but, once you read the book itself, it turns out. This dark high school bully romance is not for the faint of heart, but for those who dare to explore the forbidden and embrace the unconventional, it is an absolute must-read. What King doesn’t realize is that sinking his teeth in his Ice Princess will only leave him hungry for more. The plot of Deviant King is riveting – a complex layer of suspense, darkness and angst, the characters’ mysterious pasts play a role, from the first page – you are hooked.

Honestly I was beginning to give up on the bully genre because the reverse harem and cringe worthy female leads were just really annoying but I am so glad I gave this author a chance and I will definitely be looking out for her other books if her females are like two I have read so far in her Elite series! Hopefully, we finally get some of Aiden's POV, because so far, the story has been in Elsa's entirely. Aiden is definitely a deranged psycho you love her but then create these rumours about her and her biology teacher and for what to take out the competition I thought your the most popular guy then what’s the insecurity about . The relationship here is completely unhealthy and includes what most would consider full on sexual assault. In case you're wondering, I read this book about 3 months ago, and I've come a long way since then in this trope.

Since that incident, she’s been an outcast, bullied by her peers, isolated except for her best friend Kim, who is also an outcast. Deviant King easily tops the chart of my best read for the year (though I officially only started in October 2019)! She is strong and confident, scared and fearless, clear headed and confused and most of all full of hate and loving.

but anyways, since this is a bully romance some things might annoy some people and there's definitely questionable and fucked up things ((choking as kink, a little bit of manhandling, inappropriate groping without consent) happening here buuut i guess it all depends on people's preferences and such. Each character brings their own unique flavor to the story, adding depth and complexity to the narrative. Before diving into the review, here are some mild triggers you need to be mindful of – it’s a Dark Romance, the hero is more of an anti-hero, and there are some dubious scenes that some might find uncomfortable, but if, like me, you enjoy dark heroes – this one is right up your alley. While he had a turbulent, tortured past, Aiden didn’t let the experiences define him and was able to move forward (even if his father was unable to do so).

To be honest, I am not really a huge fan of bully books, and the start of this one was a little rough for me. This is a dark book with somewhat dubious consent being thrown into the mix at times but it's obvious that there's much more that we don't know from the beginning and I could feel the chemistry between Elsa and Aiden from the first moment she talks about seeing him at school. at times, I was even confused about what I was reading like the plot sounded promising, but it could have been delivered way better. i bet you they used to be childhood best friends but something happened so Xander became her "bully".
