I would also do a strand and sensitivity test so you know that your hair is strong enough (I would image it is less you have been a bleach addict under the purple) and for allergic reactions (Even if you have never had a problem before. The second box removed a lot of dark again, but I had only kept it on 30 minutes so I think I should have left it longer. and now the only option I have is either to cut my hair down to the blonde roots or to let it grow out and cut off the brown, either way, no thanks Colour B4.

There's also an extra strength formula available which is for stronger, darker colours such as red or black. The Casting Creme Gloss makes my hair colour rich and glossy, which is why it may look in better condition than the previous photos. Colour B4 isn’t a new product really, it’s been about a few years now and has meant for many we don’t have to bleach the colour out of our hair to get back to how we used to be. Not as harsh as a hair stripper and therefore less likely to completely damage the crap out of my hair, I decided I had nothing to lose by giving it a go ( other than, in hindsight, my hair but let’s try not to think about that…) and picked up a box of the extra strength stuff ready to try out that night. You need to make sure all those old colour pigments are gone before using your previous shampoo or re-colouring. Also I would suggest putting on a nice smelling hair mask (not that the smell makes any difference to the horrific stench of eggs and fart!

I recoloured it straight away with a semi permanent rinse in a light brown, and it was def lighter, but not as light as i wanted (still grabbed the dark tones even though the colour was a very light brown). I continually go back to this product after years of using bleach to remove colour and have to say I think its amazing! The following 'tutorial' was written by Scott Cornwall - the inventor of Colour B4 - and posted on The Student Room. I had many layers of different red hair dyes on over the past year including permanent and semi permanent. I would check it every few minutes after 5 duration (Just wipe some of the colour from a small strand of hair with your finger).Or if you have applied a dark brown, red or black shade (you just don’t want) then Colour B4 Extra Strength can help. IhadSchwartzkopfLiveXXLMidnightBlue(whichwasblackish)andColourB4(thestrongesttype)gotmyhairbacktoa lovelycoppercolourinoneapplication. Make sure to shampoo your hair with a clarifying shampoo and again don’t freak out if you see some weird colour when you use it. I used it last night, worked ok but need another box cause my hair is very long so I should've used 2 in the first place. At this stage we have shrunk the colour molecules; now we need to get them out of our hair and this is where the rinsing and buffering comes into play.

I wrongly assumed at this point that the Colour B4 had not worked, but decided to complete all the steps anyway to give the product a chance to prove me wrong.

It kind of ate into my hair making the hair strands very thin not just thin in volume but the actual hair itself.

My best tip to prevent re-oxidation (if your hair is prone to doing it - and remember not all hair types are). My natural colour is a dull, dirty blonde so I knew this hadn't totally took it back to that, but it does actually mention this may happen on the instructions. It will take quickly and I doubt you'll need to leave it on 15 minutes – it'll be quite dark if you do. If you don’t have much colour build up or the colour you are removing isn’t too dark you could probably get away with the normal strength.I then washed it all out, applied the buffer as instructed and then started to blow dry to see the full results. If however you want to recolour all of it by all means do, but check it at regular intervals, just scrape a little colour away from the hair with your nail and have a look at the colour to see if its right for you.
