 Fine Art Manipulations

I have only recently begun to try my hand at 'Manipulations'  with Photoshop.  All credit to Livejournal community 'Still_grrr' whose recent genre prompt included fine art,  so I combined my love for certain schools/works of art with whedonverse characters. I hope the results aren't considered too bizarre and they are just for a bit of fun.

Tara As 'Ophelia'

John Everett Millais - Ophelia 1851-52

Painted by one of the founding members of the Pre-Raphaelite movement . Millais's image of the tragic death of Ophelia, as she falls into the stream and drowns, is one of the best-known illustrations from Shakespeare's play Hamlet.  This is one of the most popular paintings at the Tate Britain.

Wesley and Fred in the 'Black Brunswicker'

John Everett Millais 1860

The Black Brunswickers were a special troop raised by  Duke of Brunswick (1771-1815) in 1809. The regiment consisted of the best German gentlemen and was known as the ‘Death or Glory’, a name which derived from their distinctive death’s head hat badge and their apparent devotion to duty  Taking Millais 3 months to paint  the intensity of emotions is well conveyed in the close encounter of the couple, the girl’s body attempting to obstruct the soldier from his task and prevent his destiny.
