Description

Combined with a thermal cut out and a safety tilt switch the heaters are a better, safer way to heat your home or office.

The transparent water tank means I can keep tabs on when to empty it although it rarely needs emptying more than once a day. The dehumidifier also automatically switches off when the water tank reaches its maximum capacity of 2.1l. With a diminutive size and comparatively low 1.8kW rating, we wouldn’t expect this heater to get big rooms good and toasty. That said, it proved quite effective in our full power test. Over 30 minutes it raised the temperature of a 48 cubic-metre bedroom from 20.4℃ to 21.8℃, consuming 0.85kW hours of electricity in the process. Like the DeLonghi higher up, the British-made Ebac 4850 has a dedicated laundry boost function that helps reduce the drying time of your damp laundry when it’s inside. Design foibles aside, this is an outstanding heater that’s hot enough to toast marshmallows. And when it’s time to move outdoors for some al fresco evening entertainment, you can simply take it with you. The beauty of a desiccant dehumidifier is not only that they are typically quieter than compressor models, but they are ideal for smaller, unheated areas such as conservatories, campervans, garages, boats and cellars. They’re also fantastically efficient.Meaco uses a PTC heating element in the MeacoHeat 2.0kW, which is designed to self-limit at lower temperatures, rather than getting red hot as would a steel element. This should mean this fan heater is safer to leave on all of the time, particularly since there’s are a temperature stat control and motion detection to turn the fan off automatically. Thanks to the range of MeacoHeat, those days are over! MotionMove technology utilises motion sensing technology that turns the heater on when you enter the room and off again when you leave. This technology ensures that heaters are automatically turned off once you leave the room, giving you the heat you want when it’s needed ensuring less energy usage for the money & environment conscious households.

It’s the setting with the highest ventilation speed and dehumidifying capacity. In my testing, I found it to really work. I don’t struggle too badly with mould in winter but I do find it difficult to dry clothes (I’m a little too stoic about not switching on the heating). With this DeLonghi dehumidifier sat next to my standard, non-heated clothes airer, my washing dried within a few hours, including a pair of jeans and a hoodie. The heaters use safe PTC ceramic technology to offer a faster start-up time with almost instant heat and a reliable form of heat distribution. This heater’s top panel is home to a set of touch controls for its various features. There’s a fan-only mode and two levels of heat, plus a countdown timer for up to seven hours of use. While it’s a shame there’s no thermostat, there’s an unusual motion-sensing feature that keeps the heater off until it detects movement. This could be useful if you want to avoid heating a rarely used space. The new MeacoHeat Motion heaters, with their unique motion detection sensors, can be used as stand-alone heaters for these spaces, as they will only switch on when a person walks into the room. When they leave the room they will switch off, saving money on heating bills as well as being kinder to the environment.

You work at BID, what a legend.

Users rate the heat output of this model very highly, so if you want a heater that doesn’t look like a heater, this is the one to go for.
