Melanie Harlow definitely knows how to do small-town romance justice! Tease is the 8th installment in the Cloverleigh Farms series, following characters from the second generation, and while this entire series brings ALL the feelings and the best tropes to life, it can be read as a standalone. They decide that keeping up the story for a while is mutually beneficial for both of them, but soon their “fake” engagement starts to feel a little too real. Between the ring shopping, dress shopping, and ~kissing practice~, lines get blurred. there were just sooooo many sweet moments here, eurgh. i can’t name them all. it just ties into the way they loved, respected and cared for one another. they were each other’s greatest advocates and supporters, so you could really feel just how much they meant to one another. the soulmatism was strong in this one.

This book is about a 28 year old girl fantasizing about how fun would it be to fake date a hot billionaire. It was surreal to me. My one little dislike is that the heroine seemed to blow up over so many little things. It had me rolling my eyes a few times. She called the hero a liar, but every time her tells the truth she would totally freak out on him. He could never do anything right for her and that got a bit grating at certain parts. And let me tell you about the tension. The TENSION. How did MH avoid a slow burn but still build up the pay off like she did?? I was gasping up every time they even hugged or brushed elbows haha While this book is loaded with anxiety issues, all in all, it’s also sweet and spicy, and simply a fabulous read!

This is a really sweet, funny, and sometimes swoony enemies-to-lovers story with a wonderful ending, and a bonus epilogue that was heartwarming. I needed this.
